Crafting A Custom Spell 

Have you ever felt the pull to create your own spell, yet noticed that the ones you find in books or online don’t quite land in your body? They’re beautiful, yes, but they don’t fully hold your situation, your desires, your energy.

This is where custom spell and ritual work begins.

To start, let me just say, I do not love the term spell. It implies simplicity and is tied up with energetics I do not adore, yet this is what most people call it. I invite you to sit with the feeling of the word ritual. I personally really embrace and resonate with the term ritual. It implies there are steps, it is sacred, and it is something you embody, not just a few words flying out of your mouth.

That aside, let’s talk about what a custom spell is.

What a Custom Spell Truly Is

At its core, it is not about following steps perfectly. It is about weaving energy with intention. When your intentions are precise, alive, and emotionally connected, the ritual becomes a living current that moves with you rather than something you simply perform.

Why Clarity and Intention Matter

When we are working with manifestation, healing, protection, love, abundance, or change of any kind really, clarity matters. Not surface clarity, but soul clarity. What is it that you truly want to call in? What does it feel like in your body when you imagine it arriving? What shifts within you when you give yourself permission to name it fully?

This is the most important part of crafting any ritual, whether you are creating it for yourself or sharing your intentions with a ritual caster like myself to create and cast it on your behalf. The energy responds to specificity. Vague intentions create diffuse energy. Clear intentions create direction, momentum, and alignment.

Leaving Space for What Is Most Aligned

At the same time, there is a deep wisdom in not closing the door too tightly.

When I create custom rituals for my clients, I take their intentions and then intentionally weave in the energy of what is highest and best for them. Not as a replacement for what they desire, but as an expansion of it. This leaves space for something even more aligned to enter. Something that may surprise you. Something that may exceed what the mind initially imagined. This also builds upon what you have requested, often bringing in both situations. Yours, and then the more aligned version as a choice.

For example, you may know exactly which role you want, which opportunity you are calling in, or which situation you wish to shift. That clarity is powerful and absolutely belongs in your ritual. Energy needs a focal point. It needs a direction to move toward.

But when we add the invitation for all opportunities that are truly aligned with your highest good to also flow in, we open the channel wider. We allow the Universe, Source, Goddess, Spirit to meet us with intelligence rather than limitation. This is often where the magic deepens.

Why One Clear Intention Is More Powerful

Custom ritual work is strongest when it is clean, focused, and deliberate. One primary intention. One energetic direction. When we try to weave ten different desires into a single ritual, the energy fragments. When we honour one area fully, the current strengthens and the results become clearer.

This is why custom rituals are so potent. They are not generic. They are created for a specific moment, a specific desire, a specific energetic state. They are crafted to hold you.

Preparing Your Energy Before Ritual Work

Before any ritual work begins, it is also essential to tend to your energy field. Your aura, your emotional state, your vibration. Ritual amplifies what is already present. If you are feeling depleted, disconnected, or operating from lack, the ritual will still work, but not with the same strength or ease.

This is why I always recommend clearing and cleansing your energy before stepping into custom ritual work. When your field is clear and supported, your intentions move more freely. The pathway opens. The response is stronger. Doing this first creates a noticeable shift in what you are able to bring in.
